How it forms: Crystallizes from silica-rich fluids.
The 'Master Healer' of the mineral kingdom, Clear Quartz is silica in its most undiluted form. It crystallizes from silica-rich hydrothermal fluids in cracks and fissures of the Earth's crust. A perfect environment of high pressure and slow cooling, where there are no 'impurities' (like iron or manganese) to tint the crystal, allows for its growth. The Result: Perfectly clear, hexagonal prisms that can grow to massive sizes.
