Geology · Formation
How it forms: Skarns where magma meets limestone.
Danburite is a high-vibration calcium borosilicate that was first discovered in Danbury, Connecticut. It forms in 'Skarns'—metamorphic zones where hot magma intrudes into limestone or marble. A complex chemical exchange of calcium and boron under high heat triggers the formation. The Result: Highly transparent, diamond-like crystals with a distinct 'wedge-shaped' termination.
