About this stone

A lead sulfide mineral with a heavy, metallic luster. Galena is a powerful grounding stone for shamanic journeying, past-life recall, and centering scattered energy. It promotes holistic healing by harmonizing body and soul.

Geology · Formation

How it forms: Primary ore of lead in hydrothermal veins.

Galena is the primary ore of lead and one of the heaviest common minerals on Earth. It forms in hydrothermal veins, often alongside silver, quartz, and fluorite. Hot, sulfur-rich fluids react with lead in the Earth's crust to form Lead Sulfide (PbS). The Result: Metallic, silver-grey cubes that break into perfect right angles.
