Girasol (or Moon Quartz) is a variety of quartz with a soft, milky glow. It forms in hydrothermal environments with a high water content. Microscopic droplets of water or gas are trapped in the silica as it crystallizes. The Result: A translucent quartz with a soft, hazy blue or white glow, similar to moonstone.
