Honey Calcite is a warm, golden variety of calcium carbonate found in massive formations. It forms in huge sedimentary beds or via hydrothermal fluids. Large-scale crystallization of calcium-rich fluids with organic or iron impurities creates the 'honey' hue. The Result: Translucent, golden-yellow chunks with a soft, waxy luster.
