How it forms: Intense metamorphic pressure.
Jade (specifically Nephrite) is one of the toughest materials on Earth due to its internal weave. It forms through the intense metamorphism of magnesium-rich rocks. Extreme tectonic pressure squeezes the minerals into a dense, interlocking fibrous structure. The Result: A stone that is incredibly difficult to break, ranging from milky white to deep 'imperial' green.
