Nephrite is a variety of Jade legendary for its toughness and smooth, waxy luster. It forms through the metamorphism of magnesium-rich rocks (like serpentinite) and limestone. Tectonic pressure and hydrothermal fluids weave individual mineral fibers together. The Result: A dense, interlocking fibrous structure that is nearly impossible to break.
