About this stone

One of the oldest minerals on Earth at over 3 billion years old. Nuummite's iridescent flashes shield against manipulation, increase personal power, and support shamanic journeys into the deepest layers of the self.

Geology · Formation

How it forms: 2.8 billion year old metamorphosis.

Nuummite is one of the oldest volcanic rocks on Earth, displaying a mysterious 'flash' from the deep past. Originally formed from igneous rock over 2.8 billion years ago, it underwent intense regional metamorphism. Slow cooling from metamorphic temperatures allowed minerals to separate into microscopic, alternating layers. The Result: An opaque black stone with iridescent 'lamellar' flashes of gold, blue, or violet.
