How it forms: Rare lithium pegmatite formation.
Petalite is a lithium-rich silicate known for its high-vibration white or pinkish glow. It forms in lithium-rich granite pegmatites. Concentration of rare alkali elements during the very last stages of magma crystallization results in transparent-to-translucent crystals with a pearly luster.
