About this stone
Called the 'Tempest Stone,' Pietersite carries the charge of a storm within its swirling blues, golds, and reds. It stimulates the third eye, shatters illusions, and accelerates spiritual transformation with fierce clarity.
Geology · Formation
How it forms: Tectonic 'folding' of tiger's eye.
Pietersite is a dramatic, brecciated variety of Tiger's Eye. It forms through the folding and fracturing (brecciation) of tiger's eye or hawk's eye. Intense tectonic activity shatters the original stone, which is then re-cemented by silica. The Result: Swirling, chaotic patterns of gold, blue, and rusty red that look like a storm in a bottle.
