Variscite is a hydrated aluminum phosphate with a distinct 'leaf-green' energy. It forms from the reaction of phosphate-rich groundwater with aluminum-rich rocks. Surface water seeps into cracks in shale or limestone, dissolving and re-depositing minerals as a secondary 'crust.' Result: A waxy, sea-green stone.
