About this stone

Named after the wizard, Merlinite balances light and dark energies within the self. It facilitates past-life recall, enhances magical practices, and promotes shamanic journeying between the worlds of the seen and unseen.

Geology · Formation

How it forms: Manganese inclusions in chalcedony.

Merlinite is a trade name for a specific variety of Dendritic Agate or Opal. It forms in volcanic cracks or sedimentary layers. Manganese-rich water seeps into the silica, creating branching, tree-like 'dendrites.' The Result: A white-to-grey stone with dramatic, black 'fern-like' patterns.
