Volcanic & Metamorphic
Composite
What it is
Stones made of multiple minerals fused together by geological processes. Unakite combines pink feldspar with green epidote. Septarian nodules mix calcite, aragonite, and limestone. These aren't single minerals but geological composites, each telling a story of multiple mineral-forming events.
How it forms
Each composite has its own formation history. Unakite forms when granite is metamorphosed and its minerals partially replaced. Septarian nodules form from ancient sea-floor mud that cracked and was filled by different minerals over time.
