Geology · Formation

How it forms: Sedimentary BIF (Banded Iron Form).

Tiger Iron is a 'Banded Iron Formation' (BIF) that combines three powerful stones into one rock. It formed nearly 2 billion years ago in prehistoric sea basins. Rhythmic changes in Earth's atmosphere caused alternating layers of iron and silica to precipitate out. The Result: A natural composite of Tiger's Eye, Red Jasper, and Silver Hematite.
