How it forms: Rhythmic deposition in sea cavities.
Ocean Jasper is a multicolored chalcedony found only on the coast of Madagascar. It forms as a variety of chalcedony with spherical (orbicular) patterning. Rhythmic radial growth of silica fibers around a central point creates 'bullseye' or flower-like patterns. The Result: A dense stone with hypnotic circles and wavy patterns.
